10 August 2011 - Local post-production company, SPLICE®, has received a prestigious industry award from Promax/BDA, the nation’s leading organization of television marketing executives. The design team at Splice was recognized for their creative contribution to the open for “Minnesota Original,” a public television series, which features the diverse arts community in the Twin Cities.
“I went to Splice to create our ‘mn o’ open because I have always admired their work,” comments Dianne C. Steinbach, Executive Director, Arts & Cultural Media, Twin Cities Public Television (tpt). “The Splice staff of producers and designers translated our ‘mn o’ logo and my descriptive words: ‘simple, minimalist, sculptural, abstract and 3-dimensional’ into what has become the iconic symbol of our series. Thank you to [Promax/BDA] for honoring Splice for its compelling video design.”
“They gave us a lot of creative freedom,” says Splice Art Director Chris Averbeck. “This allowed us to explore lots of different options for how to represent this unique series. It was a great project to work on. Having the piece recognized by our peers and receiving the Promax/BDA Award is an added bonus.”
