The Center of Store Experience at Best Buy Roseville, MN

“Best Buy is all about the ‘Connected World,’ where you have more and more ways to tap into and transport the media that fuels your mojo.  We envisioned our Center of Store project as a magnetic nexus for that ‘connected’ vibe,” says project Creative Director Bill Hewett.  “Mrs. K and Splice brought the mojo in a big way, and delivered an amazing video experience.”

The Center of Store installation brings to life a new level of product, service, and media connectivity.  This in-store interactive arena uses multiple flat panel monitors and stations to connect with customers in a variety of ways.  “Live” media streaming consoles are complemented by short video “how-to” demos.  Central to the experience is a trouble-shooting station in the center of the installation where customers meet with Best Buy experts-- Connected World Specialists-- for one-on-one help and advice.  Think Genius Bar for the entire Connected World spectrum.

“Before the display, customers couldn’t always see how some of our products worked,” commented Best Buy Connected World Specialist Adam Talatinick. “Now, with fully functioning interactive demos, they can have a hands on experience and the guesswork is taken out.  It’s just another way for us to provide that extra information for our customers.”

Some of the featured products, like Sling Box, are becoming very popular now that customers have a chance to experience “hands on” how they work and what they can do.

The Center of Store experience is a prototype and may be coming to a Best Buy store near you.  In the mean time, stop by the Best Buy in Roseville, MN to check it out.
